Now and then someone asks me what’s my favorite verse or “life verse.” The truth is, I like many verses. So here is my list of my top ten “favorite” verses (currently). Scripture quotations are taken from the English Standard Version.
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows those who take refuge in him.
2 Corinthians 12:9
But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
Ephesians 6:14-18 (I know, I know, more than one verse)
Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
