Encouragement is the best medicine. Not only for the one being encouraged but for the person encouraging. Sometimes the best thing I can do for myself is to think of all the people who mean something to me and text or email them. So here are a few ideas for how you can encourage people in your life, sorted from easiest to less practical.

#1: Say “Hi” and Smile!

When you see someone, don’t hesitate to say “hi” and smile! Sometimes these simple things really mean something to people having a bad day.

#2: Send Texts

Just get out your phone and send them a short text thanking them for all they do and all they mean to you.

#3: Send a Note

If you like to use email, that’s great (I use email a ton and really love it) but sometimes sending “real” letters can be five times as meaningful to the person getting them. Emails are good too, though, and can be used just as well to let them know you are thinking about them.

#4: Talk

Talk to them! Whether you can do this when you see them or you need to pick up the phone, talking with a friend can be really encouraging and meaningful to them and to you.

Now go encourage people!

  1. That’s so true, Levi. Life gets so busy and many times we forget how encouraging even a “Hi” or a smile can be until we’re on the receiving end. We need to let people know we care.

Thanks for the reminder and for the example you are, Levi! And belated Happy Birthday wishes. I hope it was spectacular!

A special thank you to you for your encouraging posts and also wishing you a very happy birthday.
