  1. ~~ “But why do we want happiness?” ~~

I am no expert but if they are good desires, thoughts, and emotions — Godly things that are excellent and praiseworthy — I would say it is a God given thing that we would do, want, and feel as we do.

As far as happiness is concerned, it beats feeling sad and depressed. And from my own personal experience I feel closer to God when I am happy. When I am sad, upset, angry, or whatever is when I feel far away from Him.
